How to protect your counters with Seal Doc’s Concrete Sealer
Seal Doc’s Concrete Sealer can be used on any concrete surface inside or outside the home. This water-based sealer’s active ingredient is an Acrylic Polymer. It’s designed to penetrate the concrete, and leaves behind a thin acrylic fill, to protect it against etching, moisture and grease.
1. Apply
The product should be quickly applied in a very thin layer over the entire surface using a microfiber pad, roller, brush, or spray gun.
2. Smooth
Use your chosen applicator to smooth out the entire surface using continuous strokes. The layer of product should be tissue-paper thin, and should not show any brush strokes.
3. Repeat
Wait at least one full hour before reapplying a second coat. This second coat should be applied in strokes perpendicular to the previous one.
4. Test
Simply sprinkle your surface with a few water droplets to reveal a visibly hydrophobic surface.
FAQs
+ How much Concrete Sealer do I need for my countertops?
One 750ml Jug provides a thin coating for a surface of 160 sq ft. You will need to increase the amount of sealer needed depending on how many coasts you want to apply.
+ How many coats of Concrete Sealer should I apply to my countertops?
This depends on whether you want a glossy or a matte finish. Concrete is a highly porous material with a matte finish, and each coat of Concrete Sealer gives it a more glossy look.
The more layers of sealer applied can improve your concrete surfaces’ protection. However, it’s important that you stick to multiple applications of paper-thin layers to get optimal product adhesion.
+ How often should I apply Seal Doc’s Concrete Sealer to my countertops?
We recommend using this concrete sealer every 3 to 5 years on interior surfaces, and every 1 to 3 years on exterior surfaces. We highly recommend pairing this product with our Concrete Gloss Wax to extend the durability of your concrete surfaces.
+ How do I know if my counters are protected against pigmented and acidic liquids?
We encourage our customers to perform a water test after each application. Simply wait 6 hours after you’ve applied Seal Doc’s Concrete Sealer, and sprinkle a few droplets of water onto it. If the droplets soak into the surface, then you will need to re-apply more sealer.
A protected concrete surface will be visibility hydrophobic. That is to say, that the droplets of water will create little bubbles on top of your counter instead of being absorbed into it.
+ What’s your return policy?
If you are unsatisfied with our product we offer a full refund, no questions asked.
